Symantec NetBackup 7.1.0.3 ist seit Dezember 2011 verfügbar und bei uns im LAB sowie auch schon bei Kunden erfolgreich im produktiven Einsatz. 

Folgende Features sind neu (Quelle NBU 7.1.0.3 Release Notes):

  • Added vSphere 5 support. This enhancement includes support for Linux vCenter 5.0.
  • Added SharePoint 2010 SP1 support.
  • Added Microsoft Exchange 2010 Service Pack 2 support.
  • Added AIX 7.1 master and media server support
  • Added Mac OS X 10.7 x64 client support.
  • NBSL changes were added to gather hardware information from the appliance media servers that are connected to NetBackup 7.1.x master servers.
    This enhancement enables OpsCenter 7.5 to monitor and collect hardware information from any appliance media server that is configured to a NetBackup 7.1.0.3 (or greater) master server.

Viele Probleme wurden gefixt (siehe NBU 7.1.0.3 Release Notes), unter anderem folgende:

  • Resolution of Deduplication issues around data inconsistency, stream handler, GRT and high memory consumption during backups
  • Resolution of performance issues experienced by customers in BMR pre-restore environment since 7.0.X
  • Restore related issues in BMR on windows and HP ‘G’ series hardware
  • Upgrade to Tomcat version 6.0.33.0 in OpsCenter
Weitere Features sind per Februar 2012 im Rahmen von NetBackup 7.5 verfügbar.
